Klacking Township

Klacking Township

History

Christopher Reetz and John Klacking traveled with their families from Saginaw in 1872 to homestead in what was to become known as Klacking Township. The township hall sits on 10 acres of the original 80 acres that Christopher Reetz received in a Federal Land Grant.

Farming and Logging were the primary industries when first settled. At one time we had several Dairy farms here and while agriculture is still a large part of Klacking Township it is now mainly crop and beef farming.

There is 10,200 acres of State land in the Township.
